THESE BATTERIES ARE SUPER VALUABLE CONSIDERING THEY EACH HAVE A BMS AND HAVE BEEN CYCLED ONLY A FEW TIMES OR NEVER CYCLED AT ALL!
WHO NEEDS CELL LEVEL FUSING WHEN EVERY CELL HAS A BMS AND A TEMPERATURE SENSOR?
THESE ARE GREAT LITTLE PACKS, PERFECT FOR DIY PROJECTS. THEY CAME OUT OF GETAC SCANNING DEVICES. WE TESTED OVER 10000 OF THESE, BUILT MANY PROJECTS WITH THEM, AND THEY TESTED AROUND 95% ON AVERAGE. THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW TECHNOLOGY MOVES FASTER THAN THE BATTERIES DEGRADE. THESE CAME OUT OF SCANNERS THAT WERE "UPGRADED" AND ONLY IN SERVICE FOR 18 MONTHS. SO THESE BATTERIES PROBABLY ONLY SAW LESS THAN 20 CYCLES.
EACH PACK IS BASICALLY 2x 2200mah CELLS IN PARALLEL, EACH WITH THEIR OWN 2A BMS. WE TESTED THESE PACKS AT 4A CONTINUOUS SO THE BMS SHOULD BE A 4A BMS ON THERE HOWEVER WE RECOMMEND 0.5C (2.2A) CONTINUOUS DISCHARGE PER PACK BECAUSE THESE BMS WILL TRIP ABOVE 4A. THEY ARE GREAT BMS UNITS BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO RUN THEM TOO CLOSE TO 4A CONTINUOUS, ANY SPIKE ABOVE THAT WILL CAUSE THE BMS TO TRIGGER PROTECTION.
THE TWO RED WIRES ARE CONNECTED TO THE SAME POSITIVE BMS TERMINAL AND THE TWO BLACK WIRES ARE ALSO CONNECTED TO THE SAME NEGATIVE TERMINAL ON THE BMS AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS. THE WHITE WIRE IS NOT NEEDED. EASILY BUILD A BATTERY PACK BY SOLDERING OR USING SPLICE CONNECTORS. CHARGE UP EACH BATTERY, CONNECT THEM IN SERIES OR EVEN PARALLEL THEM BY SOLDERING THEM TO A COPPER FLAT BAR. THIS WILL MAKE A VERY LONG LASTING, ENERGY DENSE BATTERY PACK WITH SUPER SAFETY FEATURES BUILT IN. NO WASTED DIAMOND SPACE LIKE YOU GET WITH CYLINDRICAL CELLS. NO FUSES NEEDED! EACH BATTERY IS PROTECTED!
EACH BATTERY WEIGHS 3.1 OUNCES. MEASURES 3" x 2.25" x 3/8" AND YOU GET AROUND 2 INCHES OF WIRE LENGTH TO WORK WITH. THE CONNECTOR IS A 5 PIN CONNECTOR WHERE THE PINS ARE 2.0MM SPACED. IT APPEARS TO BE A JST CONNECTOR BUT I'M NOT CERTAIN. MY RECOMMENDATION IS TO CUT ONE WIRE AT A TIME NEAR THE CONNECTOR. TRIM THE WHITE WIRE ALL THE WAY DOWN SINCE YOU DON'T NEED IT. EXPOSE AROUND A HALF INCH OF THE WIRE ON THE TWO BLACK AND TWO RED WIRES. TWIST THE TWO BLACK WIRES TOGETHER THEN TWIST THE 2 RED WIRES TOGETHER. THAT IS YOUR MAIN POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE.
IF YOU DON'T GET ANY VOLTAGE READING ON THE WIRES JUST APPLY SOME POWER AND YOU WILL IMMEDIATELY GAIN A VOLTAGE READING, SOME PACKS THE CELLS ARE DISCHARGED DOWN TO 2.8V AND THE BMS IS PROTECTING FROM OVER DISCHARGE. JUST APPLY A SMALL 4V CHARGE AND YOU ARE ALL SET. ALSO SOME PACKS THE BLACK WRAPPER IS PEELING. YOU CAN USE KAPTON, SHRINK, OR ELECTRICAL TAPE. IF YOU BUILD A PACK WITH THESE YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY AND ENERGY DENSITY. THESE TRULY ARE GREAT CELLS AND THE POUCH STYLE IS THE WAY TO GO WITH NO LOSS OF SPACE IN BETWEEN CELLS.
EACH CELL FULLY CHARGED IS 4.2V, FULLY DISCHARGED IS 2.8V. STANDARD LITHIUM ION CHARGE AND DISCHARGE LEVELS.
