Lg Chem 4p modules 60ah stackable
These cell modules were salvaged out of LG Chem rack mount batteries. The units were mostly around 66% capacity so realistic expectations on these modules is around 40ah per pack and they are priced accordingly (cheap as balls). These modules consist of 4x 15ah 3.6v LG Chem pouch cells. They can handle 3c continuous discharge without cooling. What I like most about these modules is they have bolts on the sides for easy connections to the main positive and negative tabs and the plastic housing has 6 holes for you to use threaded rod and nuts to provide compression on your newly built battery. 7 of these in series would be a nice 24v battery, 10 for 36v, 14 for 48v, etc. Some of the modules the outer layer of the aluminum case may appear to be expanded a little, that's just from being bolted down with compression in the original packs. The cells themselves are still nice and firm under that outer layer. If you remove the aluminum shell you will have access for the 4 cells underneath. There are 2 cells on each side facing towards each other and they are laser welded with the hole for the bolt connector on the sides. You can use aluminum or copper to make your own busbars. You can see the video below of these modules later in the video after David Poz breaks down the pack. These modules have a lot of potential for many different applications. I wish we had more available.
