96v 1.5kWh NIMH Toyota Highlander Battery Pack

Here are some nice Toyota Highlander 96v 1.5kWh battery packs. The battery pack is made of 10 9.6v cell modules in series. You can easily convert this into 2x 48v packs by removing the center busbar. Each of the 10 modules are basically 8 1.2v cells in series as a complete enclosed cell module. NiMH 1.2v cells get charged up to 1.5v and discharged down to 1.0v.

9.6v module fully charged is 12v and fully discharged is 8v.
5 series (48v pack) module fully charged is 60v and fully discharged is 40v.
Complete pack (10s) module fully charged is 120v and fully discharged is 80v.

Ni-MH is not as popular of course compared to lithium but it is a reliable and safe battery. Better than lead acid in terms of cycle life and pretty good energy density. These packs were salvaged out of low mileage Highlander hybrid cars. For the price you can't go wrong.
