20 Sanyo UR18650a 2150mah cells in 4s5p module
Here are nice medical packs to salvage good quality and name brand Sanyo UR18650A cells. These are the good model of Sanyo cells. These packs are for salvaging the cells since the BMS is proprietary it is unlikely you will be able to reuse it. The best part of medical packs is that they usually get swapped out after just a year or two of use and the cells still have a lot of life left in them. Also for those of you that like to salvage gold from boards, medical packs tend to gold plate the connections so you should be able to get some value there as well. Also you'll get some wires and a 6 pin connector. I don't know what the connector name is on this. In the end you get great cells for 50 cents and some extra accessories to sweeten the deal. These packs are a little hard to crack open, you have to crack them at the seam and when you get the lid off there is some double sided foam tape under the cells but with a good plastic pry tool you'll be able to get them out. Not the easiest packs to salvage cells from but definitely not the hardest and the cells do come out clean so no glue or any crap like that after you win the battle with the plastic case. Photos 4 and 5 show the spec sheet for the Sanyo cells. You can discharge these continuous at 4.3a per cell and of course they have all the usual parameters. Charge up to 4.2v and discharge down to 2.8v. I recommend max continuous charge of 1c (2.15a) and max continuous discharge of 2c (4.3a). The cells are currently in 4s5p so they are set up at 14.4v nominal.
Pack weight is 2.35lbs
A few lucky customers will get a pack that has already been cracked open, whenever we list batteries for salvage we make sure we can open them cleanly first so we can tell you what to expect as far as the degree of difficulty.
