#1 FAQ - How many watts of solar panels can I have connected to this?
Answer: The specs say, for example, 4540w when you are charging a 48v battery. Charging a 24v battery would be up to 2260w. Just keep the solar open circuit voltage input under 150v for 48v and under 100v for 24v. It's different for each battery voltage. You can always parallel solar panels to keep the voltage under. Volts x amps = watts. Always make sure your solar input voltage stays below what is recommended and amps are under 80a. Also make sure your battery can handle up to 80a continuous charge rate. We recommend using a 80a in line fuse as an added layer of protection between the charge controller and battery.
