This auction is for 36 of these batteries. The modules are used but very clean and most of the cells inside are still good.

If you google Anton Bauer NM-38 you will see these batteries are going for over $2000 each. I know for sure that most of our customers have the knowledge and ability to rebuild these. Most of the cells in these packs are good and they are super easy to rebuild. All you need is a spot welder and something nickel. Break down the packs, test the cells, rebuild them into new packs. You will be able to rebuild most of these packs if you wanted. Or just build yourself a powerwall. The majority of these packs have a few bad cells in them.

Each module comes with a metal case that measures 8.25" x 6.25" x 5". These would be perfect to reuse too if you just wanted to build a packs to fit inside.

Each module is made up of 4x smaller 14.4v 12ah 172.8wh. Each pack has 36x 1.2v 4ah cells. Each 36 cell group is actually 3x 12s groups of cells. Those 12s groups are then paralleled only at the main positive and negative groups. Not for each series. So when you look at the nickel layout remember I told you this. There are 3x 12s 14.4v 4ah cell groups and only the 3 main positive and negatives are paralleled. Not each series of cells within the 12s groups. When you rebuild my suggestion is to convert the 3x 12s1p groups into 1x 12s3p group.

In my opinion, if you rebuild these packs, rebuild them in 12s3p where you parallel all the series groups as well like you would with lithium ion batteries, it will be more stable. With Ni-MH, most batteries (like this one) don't use a BMS to monitor every series group of cells. You can reuse the BMS which comes with heat detection and over/under current and voltage protection and only connects to the main positive and negative. I really think these packs are having issues because of the lack of paralleled series groups. One cell fails and it starts a 3x faster chain of faults with the other cells in that pack. Having the modules in 3p will slow down that cascade of cell failures and the batteries should last longer.

Each module weighs 20.2 lbs.

On the top of each module you will see the voltage. We checked them for you so you know what you are getting. Most cells are resting near 0.85v and most packs have a couple bad cells. Ni-MH cells are 1.2v nominal so 12 in series makes a perfect 14.4v battery. If you want to make a 12v battery out of these cells you can do 10 cells in series for a perfect 12v battery.

Auction Rules:

1. You must create an account or sign in to place a bid. This is to ensure the integrity of the auction.
2. Popcorn bidding is enabled to eliminate last second bids. If a bid is placed last second the time of the auction will extend for 2 minutes. If you get outbid last second you will have 2 minutes to place another bid.
3. If you win the auction an email will be immediately and automatically sent to you. If you want to set up your own shipping just choose local pickup.
4. The freight quotes in our estimator are tied into our account so they are the actual rates we get. If you win more than 1 auction of course the freight cost per pallet will be cheaper when we combine the shipment into one.
5. Local pickups Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm at 1375b Adams Rd Bensalem, PA. 19020. Weekend pickup by appointment only.
6. Our email is sales@batteryhookup.com. Phone number is 215-383-9009.
7. All auctions are final and as-is. We do our best to accurately and honestly describe the products in the auction to eliminate guessing and uncertainty.

Our goal is to create a superior auction experience. The ability to calculate freight cost before bidding was a very important feature when some other auction platforms don't offer shipping at all. We also try to palletize similar items and take the time to spot test and give a more detailed description.
